Studies directed toward the synthesis of Correolide, a selective small molecule inhibitor of the KV1.3 ion channel, employing a diastereoselective Diels–Alder reaction are described. Our work on convergent strategies that utilize an intramolecular Heck reaction to construct a tetracyclic core is also outlined.
