| Based on the recently discovered copper(I)-catalyzed synthesis of 1,2,3-triazoles from azides and terminal alkynes, we have developed an efficient synthesis of a novel class of dendrimers. Our ongoing interest in catalysis and click chemistry prompted us to explore metal-binding and catalytic properties of these polytriazole molecules. Investigations of the binding behavior of copper in different oxidation states and applications of the resulting complexes to homogeneous catalysis will be described in the presentation. |
