Microwave irradiation facilitated the reductive amination of carbonyl compounds, using a new silica-supported cyanoborohydride reagent. The effect of solvent, concentration, stoichiometry, and time were studied to find optimum set of reaction conditions. After optimizing the microwave reaction conditions an array of compounds was synthesized using the combination of the microwave, SyntageTM cyanoborohydride cartridges and Flash chromatography. A summary of this small library results will be presented.
