Encapsulated nitrosating reagents (ENR) will be introduced. These are prepared upon chemical fixation of NO2/N2O4 by calixarenes. Size – shape selective nitrosation of amides will be presented. Solid supported ENR and their use in preparative organic chemistry will be discussed.
