| Preparative and mechanistic studies on metal-catalyzed bond forming reactions will be presented, including alkene and alkyne metathesis, platinum catalyzed skeletal rearrangements, as well as iron-catalyzed cross coupling. Applications of these methods to the total synthesis of natural products of biological significance will demonstrate their preparative scope and practicality. |
